This is the dishwasher detergent that I have been using for several months. It works extremely well, it is frugal, and not full of all the chemicals that are in commercial dish detergent.
Dishwasher Detergent
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup borax
1/2 cup washing soda
2/3 cups salt (I use kosher salt)
2/3 cups citric acid
Mix all of these in a container. I use about 1 tablespoon per load of dishes.After putting the scoop in the dishwasher I put a few drops of lemon, orange, or lime essential oils on top.
I also use white vinegar in the rinse aid compartment.
I highly recommend using essential oils. They are amazing. I will share a success story tomorrow about essential oils.
